Imaginary Friend
You are not here by my side no more
Not even your darkest shadow follows along
I whisper your name
I hear nothing back
He listens without hesitation and hugs me tight
My tears are dried by his soft hands
He leads the way into the deep ocean
Mocking your coward face and daunting lies
I sit by the shore watching you disappear
Thin air you belong not here
He was so nice I thought at first
His hands would protect against foreign
Slowly his hands I do not recognize
I wait for him to bite and finish scratching
He drags me below the water surface
And holds me down I am alone
At the bottom I have no tears left to dry
I call for you one last time
You are not here by my side no more
