i can’t seem to
get in a breath.
that’s not how these
things work.
you’re not
allowed to open up.
you just push down the
feelings
until he says
yes
or
no.

This poem corresponds to something we did as kids when we would write our crushes notes that would say, "Do you like me? Cirlce Yes or No." I wrote this because this is how it feels sometimes when you're rejected; Like you can't get a simpe sentence in because you can't seem to catch your breath.
