"Zen does not confuse spirituality with thinking about God while one is peeling potatoes. Zen spirituality is just to peel the potatoes."-Alan Watts

My dreams are trapped within your reality

When I sleep I sleep

And that’s just about the extent of it

But in my waking eyes numbered three

I seem to see across the sea

I tend to find among blazing stars

Colors and patterns worthy of Dalí

Oh, if only he

Could see what I could see!

Then again, something tells me he understands

A punctured heart engulfed in flames

Constitutes the girl next door

A cowboy on a mustang, pulling on the reigns

My brother rides off into the sunset

The dream ends as nighttime falls

My brother moved far away

The girl tied her last knot yesterday

And people have the gall to ask

Why I spend my time in my head

Well, if only they knew what I’ve been through

They too would do anything

To escape their precious hell.
