Someone once told me that I write beautifully. Then they stared at me. Blank expression across their face. They sat holding a poem I written just twenty-four hours prior. “You truly do write beautifully”, they said, “your mind must be a terrible place.” They sat the poem down and walked out. I felt astonished at the fact that they knew exactly how I felt everyday of my life, just from one little poem. I wondered why they were the only one that caught on.
