Autumn Color
The flaming lawns of lanes and streets
the blaze that crunches under feet
The treetop fire devours the sap
And crackling and fizzing spat
From the bushes springs incendiary heat
and scaly wicks by sight entrap
And hold in morbid fascination as they beat
the living blood out of the tree
Falling drip
drip
drip
drip
the droplets of nectar accrete
All the flaming sends up ash like snow
the heavy clouds, eat and grow
Creeping out like strangers
The icy gale begins to blow
Waiting for the fruit of fires to fall like snow

This peice is about the leaves of fall, bright red and yellow, all fallen and strewn about everywhere, like fire or blood. The vibrancy and intensity of the color and the massive quantity of leaves is impressive and worthy of mention. Anytime such an oppotunity for creationg art is squandered, then it is truly a great loss.
