Thank You for the Love
He gave me everything and the world along with it
but who knew that one day I’d be without it.
I saw that all he did was accept
though I was unkempt
and I can’t lie
he made me feel like I could fly
I was invincible
and no longer cynical.
all I had was love for myself
but give someone enough rope and he will hang himself
the end was as bitter as benzene
but I was still the queen
and I had the greatest love one could hold:
love for oneself and it could never be sold
