The rain strikes the thin roof
Like the shattering of glass on the weary tile floor
Since then, no time and all time has trickled painlessly between us
And that look of numbing confusion you shot me years ago
What other empty poison could have been repeated?
There's not much left to ignore now
It is all pretend, I tell myself
It is all pretend until it is not
