The Ride
The mountain sat high up in the sky.
I looked down and truly believed I could fly.
I strapped the board on my feet
And prayed my ride would not go awry.
I jumped to go forward and raced so my sister would not beat.
The snow fell in a thick sheet.
I leaned to the left and to the right, dodging the trees and the rocks.
I began to feel the heat.
My hat held back my long locks,
And I felt the warmth from my socks.
The smooth snow helped me slide,
And I felt the speed give me a shock.
The forest left my path wide
I used the tall pines as my guide.
As I approached the bottom of the hill, my ride filled me with pride.
