My mind rejects silence like my body does lactose

Music flows through me

My neurons fire in six part harmony

Following my sixteenth note heartbeat

Harmonizing with my breath

With every inhale you take in oxygen

But I run on something else

Something dissonant and beautiful

Just beneath the frequency of my thoughts

Vibrating just fast enough to feel like home

Like the rocking of a cradle

lulling me to sanity instead of sleep

When I can breathe

I feel the highest voices flying

Filling the cracks in my composure

And below me

Y chromosome voices knit together

As strong as steel

And safe as silk

In the middle

I stand on level ground

Cocooned in song

A major third away from heaven

This chord

Balanced on the edge of perfection

Ricochets through my thoughts

my sound hug

My oxygen
