An Ode to my Love
In winter days I long for warmth, to fly
A kite early in the morn. To find a place in the sun to
Smile all the bad days gone. For summer sunsets
Full of fun, but here I am in the cold yearning for a hand
To hold.
Oh how I wish to be a bird to fly to days
Full of warmth but here I stay far away
from summer sunsets and pretty days.
Far from his loving glance his brightest smile, and
His warm hand. Oh how I wish to be with him
To smile at his childness, but he is gone and I am
Here far away never to touch again. Oh how I hate the cold
For it is sorrow through and through.
In this shack I do stay yearning for a hand to hold.
