The Hardest Part
The hardest thing
You could ever go through
Is loving someone
And I mean really loving someone
And then having them break your heart
And you’ll think to yourself
“Time heals all wounds”
But no matter how much time passes
That kind of hurt never really goes away.
You’ll finally think you’re doing better
You’ll finally think you have moved on
But then you get a flashback
Or hear a song
Or pass by a place you went to together
And it’ll hit you all over again
Your mind will feel like a
Tornado spinning with thoughts
And you’ll fall apart
For what seems to be the hundredth time
You’ll feel like crawling under your sheets
And never getting back up again.
You love this person so much
And you know deep down you shouldn't
Because of all the pain they have caused your fragile heart.
And other people will come along
Other people will enter your life
Trying to help you move on
Trying to remind you that second chances still exist
But you never want to.
Because you promised yourself you wouldn’t
And even though he broke all his promises
You still want to keep yours.
And you're so adamant on not moving on
Thinking that maybe,
Just maybe he'll realize what he’s done and come back.
But he never will.
And you just don't want to miss him anymore
You don't want to love him anymore.
But you always will….

Sometimes people break, things break, and there is no fixing it. You cant sew up a broken heart, cant put it back together. This poem is about the hurt but also about getting back up.
