Empty Cradles
There is nothing more empty
As to see a list of names
Now with an unfulfilled purpose
Who may have bore a beautiful life
Full of laughter and promise
Yet I still turn the other cheek
For the price of formidable suffering
Lies as deeper than the extent
Of the chance of living a life of joy
No, I will not let emotion sway me
To hold and love my child
It is better to have not existed
Than to be unwillingly plunged
Into a force of darkness
Which a baby cannot battle
Oh if only I could let the children
Decide for themselves
Whether they want to be born
Into this world
Or Saved.
