She wished he could feel her heartbeat.
How, every time he comes near her it skips a beat,
Or how it flutters when they lock eyes.

She wished she could tell him the truth.
She really liked his appearance.
His dark chocolate complexion,
His deep waves,
His perfect white smile.
The way he smelled like an expensive cologne.
The way he stood above the crowd.

She wished he would walk up to her,
Ask her, for her name,
She would act shy,
Silently having a panic attack,
But she’ll play it cool.

Then that night when he finally texts her first,
She would say, Hey instead of hi,
And talking to you instead of nothing.
They would proceed to talk about their favorite colors,
And their greatest fears.

She doesn’t know what the future holds.
