The oceans and mountains speak of how grand the castle is

Long beautiful veils covering what they see

I live in it, but cannot even spend time with tea

Looking for more windows is my now wish

The prince is everyone's favorite charmer

He has my fortunate hand in marriage

I am the only one who ever hears his ugly language

Then I get hurt by his armor

Golden dresses and shiny bow ties are my kin

Next to flower vases, there are glasses that take one to darkness

Chandeliers on top covering with brightness

They all want to win

The swords stab me more when the jolly jesters make me their play

Every royal chamber whispers about how blessed am I

No horse comes and I beg the water in my eye

For I have no choice, but to obey

The author's comments:

I have a strong passion for writing since childhood. I enjoy writing poems and short stories that convey meaningful ideas, social issues and important morals. The poem "Behind the Veils of the Castle" is an analytical poem I wrote. It teaches that in reality, things may not be as nice as they seem to be, from far away. It presents the saying "the grass is always greener on the other side". Despite being married to a prince and living such a luxurious life in the castle among royals, the female in the poem is very miserable. She wants to leave and is looking for ways to escape, but she feels stuck. She has no hope.
