The Winter
It’s funny how the sun stays only until you need it again.
The clouds only seem to cover the sky as time passes.
Flurries dance down sooner than later onto your car's windshield.
The winter is here.
The laughter of children playing with their homemade frosty (frosty the snowman)
The adults gather at the door to watch with their heated hands from the hot chocolate
Music is in the air if you listen close enough.
The music of the wind with the snow acts like the perfect ballroom dance
Some are upset by the messed up silkiness of the blanket you see as snow.
Some are glad to finally hear the crunch at the bottom of their boots.
Kids fuss at the packing of clothes on their small but fragile bodies
Adults fuss at the snow dragged in.
But all I can say is that the music and the lights along with the dances;
All make me happy and filled with joy.
Whether Santa exists is none of my concern.
The winter season is all I yearn.

This is all about what I love. The smell of fresh winter days to the white wintery sky. If you haven't noticed, winter is my favorite season. All because my grandma made it magical every year. Her decorations would turn the corners to the next street as well as the inside felt like I was in santas workshop. I thank her for being my winter as well as showing me how beautiful it is. No matter what people say, I decorate my heart out just for her and just to have a moment where it feels like she is there again with me. Dancing to "Jingle Bell Rock" while grandpa watches television.
