First Day
“Have fun on your first day”
She said
“Meet new friends and have fun!”
She said
Here I stand, bloodied hand and knee from a rock that disliked my shoe choice that day, I look as though a zombie had bitten my hand and got a little chunk out.
Everyone saw that; me flying through the air like a cross-eyed bird just to land as if I didn’t
know how to, then getting up and acting like nothing happened by brushing it off and laughing.
As I walk to my bus, I avoid raising my head; as my fellow peers stare at me as if I had just won the prize for best actress. I start to feel my hand crying out in pain as blood like tears flow out of my skin.
On the bus ride home I get questioned, looked at and weird people trying to touch my new wound as if it was a dissection in science class.
Finally, the bus comes to a stop; I can’t wait to get inside, away from this attention!
I start walking home, and in the distance I see my mom with her phone, talking to it; but it’s pointed at me as if laughing at my injury.
Halfway; tears prick my eyes
Almost there; sobs leave my mouth
I start to run into the house past my mom as she follows, putting her phone away and asking; “What's wrong?”
Which to I answered;
“This whole first day”

This was an actual funny story that happened to me the first day of high school freshman year. I had tripped going to the bus and split my hand open and just got up and went home on the bus. Then when I saw my mom recording my first day back the pain hit me and I started sobbing! It was hilarious rewriting this. I had such a bad day but now I laugh about it.
