Poetic Epiphany
It scares me
to know
how much my
hands can hold
the amount of
justice
and fear
and anger
and hope
Love always
works in a way
no one can interpret
yet
we still care
even though
we don’t know
how we do
Those who
give others
a second chance
are great
but
it takes more
courage
to give them the
first
when someone
passes away
we're all told
"he's in a better place"
"as long as we remember him, he's not gone"
"he's forever in our hearts"
but yet they never know
that they didn't need to
have explained
I never saw the whole sky
or what the stars really looked like
but I know
they’re beautiful
and I don’t need to see them
to feel the feeling
of wonder
when someone wonders
with you
I left the door open
so love decided to walk in
and the next day I closed it
so love went through the window
a lot of things
start unexplained
and they’re perfect that way
yet no one seems to understand that
so they flood our world with definitions
everyone has a heart
but only the selfless let it beat
thump
thump
thump
for those who need it
