Young Bodies and Old Eyes
The young kids ran into the field
unaware what they wanted and why
Only knowing the wishes of the masses
Handed devices they knew so little about
as they still little themselves were sent
marched them out to face the foes and mistakes of their grandfathers past
searching to carve out a future
in diamonds
The young ones staggered out hopeful
and a few unlucky ones staggered home men
Living with the demons that had lodged themselves in their hearts
Staring into the eyes of sinners
that lived in the mirrors
