Glass Prison
A glass cage encases
Why is it so hard to break free?
Fragile glass
Fragile me
Fearful me
Too afraid to break a glass prison
Of perfect facets
Perfect prisms
Sparkling cage
It warps light
And turns tears to smiles
And courage, or whatever hints of courage I once had
To cowardice
Transparent, it remains hidden
Known only to one.
And keeping me safe
Locked in the cage
I can break so easily
Yet would be harder than bearing the world
And harder than a life in the perfect prison
