Drunk Together
Not hungover
Just drunk on life
Not an alcoholic
Just one more glass of wine.
“I hate seeing you do this to yourself.”
Like you’re any better.
“At least I’m the one to get up first the next morning.”
One more drink?
“Fine.”
*The Next Morning*
Just gonna sit up.
That’s not so hard.
Two coffees on the table.
Sit next to me.
Silence, staring forward.
Sip, sip, clink.
Bitter.
I love you.
“I know.”
Promise we’ll always be drunk together?
Pause
Glance at rings
Take my hand
Look at me
Smile.
“I promise.”

I personally don't drink, but I wanted to write something about a couple who did but were still good people. Written on a plane out of boredom.
