For A Girl Like Me
In a room of being silenced
Being told to just sit still and be quiet
Legs crossed in a proper way
Always being told what to say
Make sure to cover up
Never look away from your cup
Dressed in a short skirt
Boys will began to flirt
When they do
They’ll never stop harassing you
They say not all men
When I got groomed by more than ten
Listen to my pleas
For girls who are just like me
I’ve wanted to say this for a while
But have been told to hold off, so they don’t go to trial
Because we’re just minors
Don’t take us for whiners
Don’t treat me like an object
I’m more than your little project
From a girl who has been objectified her whole life
And has harmed herself with a knife
All we want is to feel safe
So men, give us some faith
