Sleepovers With A Boy
Just because
I want
To sleep
Over
At a
Boy’s
House,
Does
Not
Mean
I want
To
Screw
Him.
It means
I want to have
Popcorn fights
In a
Blanket fort.
It means
I want to
Fall asleep
On him
After a
Netflix
Binge.
It means
I want to
Sneak into the
Kitchen and
Eat candy together
While giggling
And trying
Not to
Wake
His
Mom.
It means
I want to
Make breakfast
With him,
Joking and
Laughing
Till his
Brother
Wakes up.
It means
I want to
Spend time
Away from the
Drama
Of my other
Friends.
It means
I want to
Cry on his
Chest,
As he strokes my
Hair,
And I listen
To his
Heartbeat.
It means
I want to
Get excited and
Enjoy myself
Without people
Laughing
At me.
It means
I want to
Have a
Conversation
Only he
Understands.
It means
That I
Trust him to
Respect me,
And not do
Anything
I don’t
Want.
It means
That for a
Brief
Couple of
Hours,
I want to
Spend time
With
Him,
And pretend
That it
Is
Just
Me
And
Him.
A pair
Of
Best
Friends,
Alone,
But
Together,
Against
The
World.
It means
I want to be
Alone
With
him
But not in
The way
You
Think.

Based on the time my mother told me I couldn't sleep at my best friend's house because he was a boy.
