To You My Beloved
When death shows up
Knocking life's door endlessly
Slaying fond memories of a lifetime
Opening a room for uninterrupted silence
To attend to the uncharted passions
Brimming in the heart's pathway.
You know all's about to end
The laughter, sorrows, smiles and tears
All's going to reach a standstill
And when you open your eyes
Creeps in dark truths of life
Which ultimately needs acceptance.
You'll need hours and hours
To overcome this sadness
And to cover up my emptiness
Behind the curtain of yesterday
Tough to bring back your conscience
To the fresh breath of today.
Never be sad and emaciated
Because that's how life is
It takes you through strange lands
And brings you the fragrance of love
But before you inhale in its freshness
You vanish to the unknown skies.
