Tennis Boy
I had a dream
Of a boy holding a racket
He looked with a smile that beamed
He came and lent me his jacket
His face was a blur
Though I knew exactly who he was
Perhaps this same dream will occur
I sure hope so because
It was unlike any other dreams
I wasn’t falling off a building
Or eating my favorite ice cream
It wasn’t as boring as watching a flower wilting
The next morning
I walked down the hall
The hall was swarming
With people, then I fall
Though I didn’t hit my knees
I didn’t hit anything at all
I feel gloves on a hand
I look up and see a boy wearing a headband
I apologized, he looked in my eyes
And gave me my fallen jacket
I didn’t realize
That he was also holding a racket
