I waited for the night
drunk on the waves
Jump
I dared myself
like I would for a rollercoaster ride
I waited
for the dark
suffocating
like each breath
pushing upon a line
never satisfied
What will I owe
to be embraced by the dark
I’ll never pay
I wrote this while staring at the ocean on a boat. It was getting dark and I felt a homeliness looking at the boundless sea melting into the night. I am not a huge writer of poetry, so this was very fun and also a bit scary.
