The Moon
Silver beams shine down upon
The sleeping world awaiting dawn.
The moonlight tricks the eyes of those
Who as a sentinel shall pose
To guard their family from harm
And must evade sleeps pleasant charm.
But one more guard shall take it’s stand
And shed it’s light throughout the land:
The moon, steadfast against the sky
Is watching from it’s place on high.
And underneath her watchful eyes
Dance bats and birds and fireflies.
For though the world is fast asleep,
And midnight’s meant for slumber deep,
For some, the fun has just begun;
They’re dancing in the midnight sun.
I wrote a poem about the sun so I thought I should write one about the moon.
