Voice of The Prairie
‘hold me’
i whispered to you
longing for nothing more
than the way your skin felt on mine
but this time
you weren’t there
to hold onto
to cling to
to seek refuge in
you were the voice of the prairie
the poster boy of our little town
but now i can barely remember
the sound of your voice
your giggle i loved so much
the way you breathed
i told its a good world
but i lied
it was only good when you were in it
