gold woman
sil'vry moon shines on
gold woman,
ties the satchel tight.
as ferns curl callow limbs and
maples drip
autumn honey.
she cuts her hair,
metallic strips fall to join the
damp soil and grassy ochre plain.
flaxen fingernails scrape the fallow land,
in search of a new year.
She lays herself beneath the roots,
and feeds the worn terrain.
