autumn's my love

autumns my lover
with her ginger-streaked hair,
and camomile letters of pumpkin
pie recipes.
a saw a sapphire sky in september
that made me love living,
and now i wear makeup and drive
and have birthdays and
go to funerals and talk to exes.
im excited to live when my lovers in town,
with her coffee-stained sweaters and
chilly red nose.
and her hands carved from bark
yet soft as flannel. i wanna love like
the clouds, and dance like her blush!
but autumns my lover,
i wish you were too.
but humble and mild in a fall
air is the only way
to truly feel my
lovers graze.
