The Unnamed Land
Deep in the woods,
Through the arch,
There’s a land
That no man can understand.
Dew drops glitter
Pretending to be stars.
They hide under the sun
Afraid of the dark.
But the dark holds much more.
Who would have thought?
As the sun descended
More shade was bought.
Deer finally relax
After wandering through the land.
They fall asleep
Quicker than they ran.
But a fawn still awake
Seeking grass.
Wandering for it alone
Whilst still among the stars.
As the months pass by
The dew drops freeze, glittering even more,
The deers run faster, but sleep still scores,
The dark stays the same,
And the unknown land remains unnamed.
