sligo river blues
the sun's gonna shine
on my backdoor
when the clouds
skip to swing.
and the moon's gonna sing
under her delicate breath
when the lights fade into
starry sky.
i'll pack my suitcase
with watercolors and
pennies,
and hop trains on Wednesday
afternoons.
evenings are musky and
frozen in December,
but my breath is cleaner
and
free.
