Envy Of
Envy of the birds,
We stole their flight,
Now they drop in the dead of night.
Envy of the terminates,
We stole their mounds,
Concrete hardens on their grounds.
Envy of the leaves,
Just to conquer the sun,
They have fallen ever since we had begun.
We turn to see our neighbors,
Oh, how they dance,
Oh, how they have a morsel of joy,
We send suns to fall on earth,
Fueled by envy, aimed to destroy.
Suffocating,
This hand of death
runs along forests.
The same hand,
ripping stars from our skies.
Singing its own melodies,
too loud to hear nature’s cries.
