Volley
The burning in my knees,
The bruises on my arms,
Bump!
The precision of timing,
The position of my body,
Set!
The stinging in my hand,
The power through my arm,
Spike!
Makes me feel like I’m alive
And nothing else matters
I love the fight
It ignites a flame in my soul
A flame that can never be extinguished
Can never be taken away
The thrill of a close match
The excitement of winning
The pain of losing
There’s nothing that could make me stop playing
Volleyball is life
Volleyball is my life.

I am a multi-sport athlete who plays volleyball and runs track. This poem is from the perspective of a libero, basically a defensive specialist. In this position, you have to know how to pass, set, and hit just incase.
