How we bleed
They say we all bleed the same
But we will never be in their lane
They will never get treated the way we do
The stares at our hair
Their glares strip us bare
Making us feel exposed
Unfit to be in their presence
We carry generations of hurt
The way they treat us like dirt
They claim black lives matter
But show that they matter more
Our dark skin makes them wary
Apparently we look like we want to be buried
I don't get it
Why the hate
Was it fate
Were we destined to be this way
Oppressed and stressed
Always considered less
That is no way to live
Can we possibly forgive
Once and for all
But no all they only want is to see us fall
If only we ever knew
They say we bleed the same
But we bleed black and blue
