The Sun to my ever revolving, growing Earth

I've stared upon you in awe ever since
I was a young one with so little knowledge.

Kids laugh at the reek of smoke on my clothes
But the scent always reminds me of you.

Bottles and crushed aluminum pile up on the kitchen table
I try to do my math homework as you grimace.

The golden nectar dribbles out the side of your mouth
You speak ill of Dad and call him mean names,

The glow of the tv casts your tired face as you swear
I glare at my Mother's Day picture crumbled in the bin.
