To Dad.
Every day I try my best.
To be the son you hoped for
But no matter how hard I try I always fall and disappoint you despite giving it my all.
I see the disappointment in your eyes.
Who knew someone’s face could speak 1,000 words?
I strive to make you proud to be the son you deserve but my mistakes and flaws seem to always get in the way .
I know you had such dreams for me. But I keep stumbling in the darkness unable to find the light.
I wish I could rewrite the script and change my story.
Though I stumble and fall I won’t stay on the ground.
I’ll keep pushing forward fueled by the hope that one day I’ll hear those words from you.
“I’m proud of you son.”.
