The Hidden Sock
I am an object you lost long ago,
You misplaced me when you folded your clothes.
I have been here for years,
I am here without my peers.
I am out of sight, yet you won’t make it right.
They say I'm a super sneaky sock, yet I try to be seen.
I feel the soft carpet beneath me and the cold air above.
I hear you walk in and out as if you don’t care.
I remember when you used to slide me onto your feet.
You made me think as if you cared before abandoning me.
I am a hidden sock,
I am a heartbroken sock.

I was thinking about what to write when I thought about all the socks in the sock drawer that don't have a matching sock. Then, I thought about the lost sock and knew I had to write about them.
