God's Plan
People say we all work with one another,
and without protection from the winds we'll shudder.
But sometimes I wonder where I fall in line,
surpassing the comments with a simple "I'm fine."
Maybe I've just been outran,
or maybe it's all part of God's plan.
Every remark I endure is a sharp-pointed prick,
leaving me like a candle with a burnt out wick.
But sometimes a slow stab is better than a one and done,
which leaves no time for the blood to run.
Maybe I need to rethink who I am,
or maybe it's all part of God's Plan.

Hi! My name is Parker Rhodes and I am a 13 year old writer located in Rhode Island. (Coincidental, I know, especially because of my last name.) Although my piece is mostly about faith, I wouldn't consider myself a spiritual person, but I do often find myself looking up to the Lord for advice. This work really means a lot to me, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
