memories
I look up at the cieling
In it swim faces of
All the people that I last loved
And hated.
I see my sister taking me to the playground.
I see my teacher yelling at me and telling me to shut up
I see couples hugging
And girls giggling
I see birthday baloons at my 4th grade party
I see a group of kids
Picking on the short kid
I see a caramel-haired boy with hazel eyes
And a sad first kiss.
It was dark coming back from the campfire
I try to kiss his cheek
But can not reach.
I stand on my toes, trying not to cry,
But then he leans down and kisses my forehead.
I smile.
Then I blink,
And realize that I'm still staring
At the dull white ceiling
