The Sea and Me
Crest,
the waves,
and come to me,
on distant shore,
to clash with Earth,
time and time again,
and to caress my worn feet,
with cooling,
gentle touches,
recede,
and reveal,
your own treasure,
of shells and rock,
polished and sculpted,
by your constant hand,
and show to me,
your children,
the life,
who keep their homes,
in peace,
and protection,
of your ever present being,
now let me hear,
the soft melodies,
of your creation,
the sighs and giggles,
you compose,
to lull me to submission,
and as I lay,
embrace me,
lightly,
in shallow,
and I will stay,
a part of you,
for as long as time allows,
a smile ever present,
and our lives entwined,
in the few moments,
of serenity.
