When I’m laying in my room and trying to sleep,
When I’m falling in and out of a dream so deep.
When I’m sketching in class, a heart split in two.
I’m pleading with God to give me a clue.

When will I find him? What if I’m too late?
Will we meet through coincidence or fate?
Will he shake my hand or pass right by?
Will he stop and stare or catch my eye?

Will he hold the door for me when we go out?
Will he make me smile when he sees me pout?
Will he place his hands on top of mine?
Will he stay with me till the end of time?

If I could be with him for two straight minutes,
If I could have no obstacles or limits,
If I could just stay wrapped up in his warm bed
I’d pray to God in my own little head.

I’d think “Thank you, God, for all you’ve done,
You’ve split me into two and you’ve made us one.
Our lives are a grapevine, we’re intertwined.
And he’s everything I never thought I could find.”
