What Will Change?
What will change?
In five years?
Ten?
Twenty?
Will we all live in space?
Own flying cars?
Wear shiny clothes?
Have robots that do our homework –
And sometimes our laundry?
Will we still have schools?
Or even the desire to learn?
Will the essence of language itself fade into the background of the murals that we call our lives?
Will it suffer the same fate that annihilated Latin and cursive?
Will we still savor sociality?
Or will technology turn on us,
Tearing away any requirement for personal interaction?
Will the withering flame of individuality and uniqueness that lies within us diminish until it remains
A smoldering wick reminding us of a once burning blaze?
What will change?
Will you even care?
