Insomnia
Can’t sleep
Nothing feels right
My body aches
Muscles throbbing
The contours of my body
Can’t find a fit
In the lumpy mattress
Beneath me
Whatever I touch
Feels completely wrong
My senses are giving up
Eyes losing focus
Clouded
Fuzzy
My nostrils fight
To suck in the
Surrounding air
My lips slightly parted dry
As I swipe my tongue
Gently over them
Useless
Unable to get the words
Swarming in my head
Out my mouth
It’s hopeless
A dull buzz
Fills my ears
I give up
Insomnia overcomes
