Amazon
Amazon river runs through his veins
Rushing in the undercurrent are eyes
Watching, looking, searching for me
From where I’m hiding in his heart
But of course they won’t find me
Because I’m hidden deep in the jungle
Tangled in miles of vines and leaves
Goodbyes as far as I can see
Vengeance is roiling through his mind
And he’s searching for something to break
But I just look off into the horizon
And wait for the subtle whispered goodbyes
to catch up to me.
Words of anger and frustration
Play hide and seek on the tip of his tongue
Screaming at my one and only soul
To come out, come out wherever it is
From my favorite hiding spot in the Amazon.
