You wanted my heart, but-
I was afraid to give it.
You promised you would do it
no harm.
I decided to let you hold it,
just for a moment.
Be careful, I warned,
it's fragile.
You vowed to keep it safe.
So, I gave it to you
to have.
After time, I was glad you were the one who had possession.

Then, something changed.

One day, you returned it,
having lost it's use.
The problem was, you gave it back
in pieces.
What do you do with
a disassembled heart?
Painstakingly, I worked on putting it back
together.
Slowly, the pieces once again took on the right shape.
I was almost done, only to discover a gap.
A missing piece
in the puzzle of my heart.
I searched high and low,
looked all around
Just to realize where it obviously would be.
The piece
is lost, in you.
