I can and I want
I can see my past on the walls
I can hear the stories being told
I can feel the things I loved when I was young
I can taste everything I used to as a infant, child and teenager
I can smell my mother’s perfume, my dad’s Old Spice
I can see whom I have grown into
I can hear the change in my voice and what others tell me
I can feel a difference in my body and mind
I can taste the new things like wine
I can smell my own perfume and my horses
I want to see me with my own family one day
I want to hear a child’s laughter on a ranch with her family around her
I want to feel my love’s gaze as I ride by on my horse while I take care of my ranch
I want to taste a cold drink as I sit on the fence at sun down after working hard all day with my cowboys and horses
I want to smell the grass, horses and my life in the world that hasn’t been destroyed
