Words connect us
To the moments we want to keep
Playing for keeps
Like forever
Or the time coffee spilled
And left this stain
A lot of people just don’t care
Remember how it was,
When we didn’t know those were the good days?
Maybe we would have lingered
In those moments now on loop
Reheated and stale
Still seem better than what we have now.
