Ugly Feet
I stare down at my ugly feet
The veins squiggling down and cutting off at my toes
Then I look up to the branches above me
I admire the rough cracked scaly bark
With a sap that has trickled through
I comb my fingers through the snarls of my crazy hair
Being whipped by the winds
I proceed into a flat plain
The tall grasses sway back and forth
Their current of motion memorizes me
My stupid stomach grumbles
I’m glad no one is there to laugh at me
Now I walk to the edge of the cliff and underneath is the lake
It’s crashing; roaring sound takes my breath away
I look down again
My feet aren’t so bad
