Feel the rhythmic beat,
The thump, thump, thumping of a
Million hearts combined
In unison throughout the ages of time.
“Stop? What’s that sound? Everybody knows
what’s going down…”
The sound of unity, of love, of brotherhood alike
All come together under the starred blanket of night.
Clasping of hands, fingers entwine
We reassure each other through the changing of time
Past, present, and whatever’s to come
Our souls are lifted, a low hum
Emanates from the different races, many faces
Smiling, swaying, to a melody sweet,
To think we were joined by just one beat.
