New Start
After months, after weeks, she awakes from her slumber
Her eyes are wide awake ready to begin the new summer
She’s forgetting the past
She’s taking long strides
New adventures wait as she chases after big dreams
Including herself in everything
Taking in what she deserves
She’s a whole other girl
Making her way throughout this big world
But what is this?
An old photograph
Showing the memories of the not so long ago past
Tears come to her eyes
The new dreams leave her head
The feelings rush back, now worse than ever
Remembering again when he said forever
She picks up the phone
Then thrusts it aside
What good is the present when the past already gone by?
She makes one last decision
To sits down and cry
And for one last time she closes her eyes.
